  • Crediting Mileage Online

    Question:

Miles for flights that I have taken are missing. Can I request to have my miles credited online?

    Answer:

Online requests for missing credits on most flights operated by Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz, Air China, Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, Egypt AIr, Lufthansa, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Swiss Airlines, TAM Linhas, TAM Mercosur, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways may be made at www.aeroplan.com. Members must keep their paper or e-ticket receipts and their boarding passes until the flight has been credited to their accounts.
Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz, Air China, Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, Egypt Air, Lufthansa, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Swiss Airlines, TAM Linhas, TAM Mercosur, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways , any other Star Alliance member airline or Aeroplan airline partners can also be submitted in writing. Including your name, address, telephone number(s), and Aeroplan number, a legible copy of your ticket or e-ticket, and your original boarding passes to:

    Aeroplan Centre
    P.O. Box 7737
    Station Terminal
    Vancouver, BC

How long does it take to credit missing flight credits online to my Aeroplan account?

In accordance with the Star Alliance validation process it takes four to six weeks to credit Aeroplan miles for missing flights on Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz, Air China, Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, Egypt Air, Lufthansa, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Swiss Airlines, TAM Linhas, TAM Mercosur, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways operated flights .

Why does it take longer for certain airlines to credit missing flights to my Aeroplan account?

Air Canada in conjunction with the other Star Alliance member airlines introduced a flight validation process that requires the operating airline to validate all requests for missing flight credits. This validation process is currently applicable to Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz, Air China, Air New Zealand, Asiana Airlines, Egypt Air, Lufthansa, Shanghai Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Swiss Airlines, TAM Linhas, TAM Mercosur, Thai Airways, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines and US Airways operated flights. As a result, it may take four to six weeks to receive, review and authorize requests for crediting missing flights to the Aeroplan account. All Star Alliance member airlines will apply the same validation process for missing flight credits in the near future.

I provided my Aeroplan number at the time of booking/check-in, so why is my flight not credited?

Star Alliance member airlines make every effort to ensure eligible flights are automatically credited to your account. However, when mileage has not been automatically credited, the member must submit a missing credit request. Aeroplan Members have up to six months from the flight date to make a credit request.

To help reduce missing flight credits please ensure the name appearing on your airline ticket(s) and in your Aeroplan profile are identical.

For more information on updating your Aeroplan profile information, please see the Help section on aeroplan.com.

I have attempted to process an online credit and have been prompted to submit my request in writing. Why am I unable to process this request?

We cannot process requests for certain Air Canada departure cities nor for all flights online. If you received a message to submit your request in writing, please send it by mail to the following address:

    Aeroplan Centre
    P.O. Box 7737
    Station Terminal
    Vancouver, BC
    Canada V6B 5W9

*Air Canada Top Tier Members should refer to the Air Canada Top Tier Program section on aeroplan.com for their dedicated address.
Remember to include your name, address, telephone number(s), and Aeroplan number, a legible copy of your ticket or your e-ticket receipt, and your original boarding passes.

I made a change to my reservation and after travel I realized that I did not receive the amount of miles I thought I was going to earn. How do you explain this?

The Aeroplan Miles credited are calculated according to the routing on the ticket and the fare type purchased for each flown flight. For example, if you originally booked a Tango Plus fare with Air Canada and you later made a change and booked and flew with a Tango fare, the miles you will earn will be based on the Tango fare accumulation. Please refer to our Earn Miles section for complete details in accumulation.

  • Air Canada Tier Status Levels

    Question:

What are the qualification levels for Air Canada Super Elite, Elite and Prestige status?

    Answer:

Air Canada Status Miles are calculated on an annual basis (January 1 to December 31) to determine your Aeroplan membership status for the following benefit year (March 1 to February 28). The qualification levels for 2010 Air Canada Top-Tier status are as follows:

Air Canada Prestige: 25,000 Aeroplan Status Miles or 25 Status Flight Segments
Air Canada Elite: 35,000 Aeroplan Status Miles or 50 Status Flight Segments
Air Canada Super Elite: 100,000 Aeroplan Status Miles or 95 Status Flight Segments

I would have reached another threshold level if my miles had been automatically credited and I need my upgrade certificates. Why can’t I receive them right away?

Upgrades certificates will be issued after the miles have been posted to the Aeroplan account and the threshold level has been reached. Air Canada upgrade certificates cannot be sent in anticipation of reaching new threshold levels.

I would have reached a higher tier status if my miles had been automatically credited. Why must I wait to be awarded my new status?

Your higher tier status will be awarded once the miles have been posted to your Aeroplan account. The early 2010 Air Canada Elite and Super Elite Recognition benefits are available as long as the required Air Canada Status Miles and Flight Segments are credited to your account by October 15, 2009.

Early 2010 Air Canada Super Elite and Elite recognition ends on October 15, 2009. I flew before this date but my miles were not credited. Will I still get 2010 Top Tier status?

As long as the missing Air Canada Status Miles and Flight Segments required are credited to your Aeroplan account by October 15, 2009, you will be awarded Top Tier status immediately. If the missing miles/segments are credited after October 15, 2009 you will be awarded Top Tier status in December or January.
