ClassicPlus Flight Rewards

Question:

What are ClassicPlus Flight Rewards?

Answer:

ClassicPlus Flight Rewards offer Aeroplan’s members unrestricted access, to available seat inventory in Economy and Executive Class, across the entire Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz networks.

What is the value of ClassicPlus Flight Rewards to Aeroplan Members?

ClassicPlus Flight Rewards offer our members access, choice and flexibility when making their reward travel plans. They have unrestricted access to available seat inventory on Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz; they may choose between a variety of flight reward options – ClassicFlight and ClassicPlus Flight Rewards – and they are empowered to choose how they access these options by either calling our contact centre or booking online at Aeroplan.com.

How can Aeroplan members book ClassicPlus Flight Rewards?

ClassicPlus Flight Rewards may be booked through Aeroplan’s contact centre or online at Aeroplan.com.

Can you give an example of how ClassicPlus Flight Rewards offer more flexibility to a member?

With the introduction of ClassicPlus Flight Rewards, so long as there is a revenue seat available to be purchased, a member will have the choice of redeeming Aeroplan Miles to access the desired flight/seat – right up until 2 hours prior to departure.

What’s more, the terms and conditions for ClassicPlus Flight Rewards have the same simple, flexible terms and conditions as ClassicFlight Rewards for changes and refundability, which are normally only associated with higher-priced revenue tickets.

Will Aeroplan members have access to all seats including business class?

Yes. Any available seat on an Air Canada or Air Canada Jazz aircraft is available for reward redemption, in both Economy and Executive class, across the Air Canada network.

Can Aeroplan members get any seat at any time?

ClassicPlus Flight Rewards may be booked up to two hours prior to departure on Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz, for available seats in both Economy and Executive class, across the Air Canada network.

Can a member make a change to his ClassicPlus flight reward?

Members may make changes to most of their reward itinerary up until 2 hours prior to departure, for a fee of C$90 plus applicable taxes per reward ticket. ClassicPlus Flight Rewards comply with the fare-related terms and conditions of the fare product purchased. This means that changes to an itinerary may incur incremental mileage, taxes, fees and / or surcharges if the price (to Aeroplan) of the revised itinerary changes.

Are ClassicPlus Flight Rewards combinable with Star Alliance or OAL partners?

No. ClassicPlus Flight Rewards are offered on Air Canada and Air Canada Jazz for available seat inventory, in both Economy and Executive class, across the Air Canada network.

Can ClassicPlus Flight Rewards and ClassicFlight Rewards be mixed?

No, not at this point. Aeroplan will continue to innovate and find new ways to support redemption growth. Aeroplan may explore the ability to combine ClassicPlus Flight Rewards and ClassicFlight Rewards on a return trip basis in the future.

Will members be able to make changes to the ticket at the airport?

Voluntary changes to a ClassicPlus Flight Rewards reservation can only be made through the contact centre for a fee of C$90 plus applicable taxes per reward ticket.
If, on the day of departure, a member is at the airport and needs to make a change, a Same Day Confirmed change to either an earlier or a later flight on the same origin and destination on an Economy or Executive flight reward may be made at the airport for a fee of C$50 plus applicable taxes per reward ticket.

Involuntary changes on the day of flight, due to service interruptions, etc., may be made at the airport. No fee is applied.

Will rules associated to a revenue ticket apply to Aeroplan tickets such as minimum / maximum stays or advance bookings?

ClassicPlus Flight Rewards comply with the fare-related terms and conditions of the fare product purchased. This means that changes to an itinerary may incur incremental mileage, taxes, fees and / or surcharges if the price (to Aeroplan) of the revised itinerary changes.

Why does the reward level fluctuate from one flight to another?

ClassicPlus Flight Rewards are a dynamic product. Given that Aeroplan purchases reward tickets from Air Canada, the mileage levels of ClassicPlus Flight Rewards vary on a ticket-by-ticket basis depending on factors, such as: availability, time of flight, day of travel, seasonality (peak, off-peak, shoulder), advance purchase, and minimum/maximum stay. These are the same factors that influence the price of a revenue ticket.

Why does a mileage adjustment appear on my e-statement?

ClassicPlus Flight Rewards’ mileage level quotes are valid at the time you redeem your Aeroplan Miles and only for the itinerary booked.

Changes that result in a lower mileage level than originally booked will result in the residual miles being forfeit.
