And the winner of the 2009 Grange Prize is...

Yes, the votes have been counted! The winner of the 2009 Grange Prize is Marco Antonio Cruz.

An exhibition of Marco Antonio Cruz’s work will take place at the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Each year, the Grange Prize works with a different partner museum in a country other than Canada. For 2009, the Grange Prize partner museum was Centro de la Imagen in Mexico City.

Two Canadian and two Mexican artists were selected as Grange Prize finalists, including:

• Lynne Cohen
• Jin-me Yoon
• Marco Antonio Cruz
• Federico Gama

Cruz will receive the $50,000 prize. You can experience the photography of the 2009 Grange Prize winner at the Art Gallery of Ontario’s special exhibition:
